Jerick McKinnon is cashing in on a strong season.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting he has landed a four-year, $30 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers. The former third-round pick was part of an effective tandem with Latavius Murray last season, gaining 570 yards rushing and catching 51 passes for 421 yards receiving.
Over his four years with the Vikings, McKinnon gained 1,918 yards rushing and averaged 4.0 yards per carry. His effectiveness in the passing game and proficiency as a pass blocker led to eighth highest grade among RBs by Pro Football Focus.
One of the most surprising deals of free agency will be Jerrick McKinnon’s with the 49ers: It is expected to be a four-year deal worth $30 million — an average of $7.5 million per year, per source.
