Fans Brave First Cold Tailgate At U.S. Bank Stadium, Vikings Win

By Vikings – WCCO | CBS Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It wasn’t just a big day for the Vikings players, the fans were also eager for a momentum change.

Some crisp fall weather doesn’t knock Minnesotans out of rhythm in cheering for the Vikings onto a 30-24 victory that ended a four-game losing streak.

Terry Johnson of Clear Lake says this was his first game and didn’t flinch at the tailgating conditions.

“I think it’s nice really, changed all the sudden but this is what it’s supposed to be like,” Johnson said.

Johnson went for some internal warmth via the Purple People Feeder’s food truck tacos.

They were also supplying hope. Chef Devin Warren said, “We’re still supporting the team, just gotta believe, just gotta turn it around today against the Cardinals.”

Speaking of Arizona’s finest, Cardinals fan Michael Navarres shivered his way through the stadium grounds.

“It’s approximately 28 degrees, my feet are freezing and my bones are chilling it’s just, it’s cold,” Navarres said.

But the game warmed up quickly, and the cold Vikings turned hot.

Jack Leiviska of Woodbury said, “Mike Zimmer said ‘Let’s finish it and they did and now the Vikes are winning again,’” Leiviska said.

Fan Greg Sadler, who came to cheer on the Vikings from California, took the win in stride.

“How does that cliché go? One game at a time,” Sadler said.
