Greg Jennings is hanging up the cleats.
The former Vikings wide receiver said in a video posted Monday that his NFL career is over. Jennings, who continued to make his home in Minnesota even after the Vikings released him, played one year for the Miami Dolphins before calling it a career.
The former Packers standout retires with 571 career catches and 8,291 receiving yards. He caught 64 touchdown passes, including 10 in his two seasons with the Vikings.
“I have some news to share with you guys,” Jennings said in the video. “Football is over. I’m done. No more big hits, no more ‘Touchdown, Greg Jennings!”
“I’m done and I’m excited to be done,” Jennings said. “The past 20 years of my life has been football, and today that all changes. … I’m done but I’m just getting started.”
