Linval Joseph returns to practice for the Vikings

By Andrew Krammer

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings had a big presence back at practice on Wednesday.

Nose tackle Linval Joseph returned as the Vikings prepare to host the Seattle Seahawks during wild-card weekend on Sunday. Joseph has been held out since the Vikings’ Dec. 27 win over the New York Giants with a foot injury that has plagued him for more than a month. He’s missed four of the last five games since injuring his foot in the Nov. 29 win at Atlanta.

Joseph was officially listed as limited in Wednesday’s practice, joining defensive end Everson Griffen, who is still recovering from a shoulder injury.

Running back Adrian Peterson (low back) watched in sweatpants as teammates ran through drills at the Winter Park outdoor practice fields. He was held out as he nurses a back injury that required X-rays during the Vikings’ 20-13 win in Green Bay on Sunday night. The tests cleared Peterson, and he returned to the game.

Fullback Zach Line (illness) and nose tackle Kenrick Ellis (ankle) did not practice.

Receiver Adam Thielen (shoulder/low back) was a full participant.
