Bleacher Report – Vikings

Harrison Smith, Everson Griffen remain sidelined

By Judd Zulgad

Safety Harrison Smith and defensive end Everson Griffen did not practice for a second consecutive day Thursday as the Vikings prepared for Sunday’s game at Atlanta.

Smith suffered a knee injury in the Vikings’ loss to Green Bay on Sunday. Griffen is listed with hip and shoulder injuries. The Vikings will complete their week of practice Friday and at that point will have to declare whether Smith and Griffen are either out, doubtful, questionable or probable.

Safety Robert Blanton (ankle), defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (ankle) and left tackle Matt Kalil (toe) were full participants on Thursday after being limited Wednesday. Cornerback Trae Waynes (ankle) was added to the injury report and listed as limited.

Linebackers Eric Kendricks (ribs) and Anthony Barr (hand) and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (left shoulder) were listed on the injury report for a second consecutive day but did not miss any practice time.

For the Falcons, Devonta Freeman (concussion) did not practice for the second day in a row and coach Dan Quinn told reporters he is leaning toward not playing the running back Sunday.

Kicker Matt Bryant was held out Thursday after suffering a quadriceps injury in Wednesday’s practice. The Falcons signed veteran kicker Shayne Graham as insurance if Bryant can’t play.

Quinn has not ruled out Bryant for Sunday’s game. Graham, 37, made 19 of 22 field goals last season with New Orleans.
