EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — As the Vikings’ offensive linemen huddled around at their corner of the practice field on a frosty Friday morning, Matt Kalil rejoined them for the first time this week during the first 10 minutes of practice open to the media.
Kalil had been held out Wednesday and Thursday as he heals a toe injury suffered in Sunday’s win at Oakland. His return on Friday could bode well to continue his 57-game start streak as he hasn’t missed a single snap in his four-year NFL career. The Vikings’ official injury report will be released this afternoon.
All hands were on deck as linebacker Eric Kendricks took his spot in the team’s base punt return drill and appears on track to return from a two-game absence. Kendricks injured his ribs in the Nov. 1 win at Chicago.
In the below-freezing morning air, players like Adrian Peterson, Captain Munnerlyn and Anthony Barr huddled around heaters before practice was fully underway, while linemen like Zac Kerin, an Ohio native, and Joe Berger, a Michigan native, braved the temperatures sleeveless in shorts.
