EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — On his way to setting the NFL record for receptions by a running back last season, Matt Forte went through the Vikings.
Forte averaged nearly a first down for each of his six catches in the Vikings’ 21-13 loss at Soldier Field a year ago. While the Chicago Bears (2-4) have changed coaching staffs and “everything, really,” coach Mike Zimmer said Wednesday, what remains is quarterback Jay Cutler, receiver Alshon Jeffery and Forte, who is on pace for a career-high 336 carries through six games of his age 29 season.
