EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Anthony Barr drew criticism from his head coach for a shove on Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford as he was running out of bounds during the Vikings’ 26-16 win over Detroit on Sunday.
That perhaps gave some credence to Lions receiver Golden Tate’s comments this week that the Vikings took ‘cheap shots’ on his quarterback during the game. But that’s not the case, Zimmer said, and the league office agreed with him, specifically on Barr’s hit, which was flagged for unnecessary roughness, a 15-yard penalty.
