MANKATO, Minn. — My radio partner, Phil Mackey, and I were wrapping up a recent interview presenting Adam Thielen with the less-than-glamorous items that came from being named the inaugural Mr. Mankato for 2014, when Mackey handed the wide receiver the list of odds for the 2015 candidates.
Thielen glanced over the sheet of paper, meant to handicap our tongue-in-cheek award that goes to an under-the-radar player at training camp, and stopped at the favorite. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs, a fifth-round pick last spring, had been given 3-1 odds by KSTP’s Chris Long.
