In the end, a standoff that peaked with a reported confrontation at February’s NFL scouting combine died with a summer whimper as both Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings ended the saga on Tuesday.
Without sending out a press release, the Vikings announced on their website Peterson agreed to restructure the final three years of his contract — reportedly gaining $20 million in guarantees. By doing so, the Vikings and contracts guru Rob Brzezinski give Peterson injury security beyond this season, but keep their own flexibility.
