EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — When the Vikings selected linebacker Anthony Barr ninth overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, first-year coach Mike Zimmer was on the white board, scratching X’s and O’s out in an effort to explain how he planned to use general manager Rick Spielman’s top overall pick.
