The Vikings entered the 2014 season expecting to get significant contributions in the passing game from Cordarrelle Patterson and Kyle Rudolph and believing that Matt Kalil would rebound from a disappointing second year to provide stability at left tackle.
None of these things happened.
Rudolph battled injuries for a second consecutive year, Kalil remained far too inconsistent for an offensive lineman taken fourth-overall in the 2012 draft and Patterson looked like a guy who might never understand what it takes to make it as a wide receiver in the NFL.
