MINNEAPOLIS — The Vikings’ highest draft pick since Hall of Famer Chris Doleman understood the microscope he was under. Save for one release of frustration, left tackle Matt Kalil took the heat during his disappointing third season.
After being the butt of jokes during the first half of 2014, Kalil hopes he has saved face with the final five games of the season. The Vikings’ No. 4 overall pick in the 2012 Draft gave up 10 sacks and took nine penalties in the first 11 games.
