The Minnesota Vikings have waived running back Ben Tate a month after they signed him.
Tate, 26, was active for Sunday’s 37-35 loss in Miami, but did not play. He compiled 38 yards on 13 carries in three games for the Vikings. The Auburn product signed a two-year, $6 million deal with the Cleveland Browns this offseason and was released after playing just eight games. The Vikings were awarded Tate off waivers after at least two other teams had also reportedly claimed him.
The move opens up a spot on the Vikings’ active roster.
