Two of Matthew Stafford’s three worst games of the season came against the Minnesota Vikings after coach Mike Zimmer pulled the joker in Sunday’s rematch and shadowed Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson with second-year cornerback Xavier Rhodes.
Rhodes wasn’t always on Johnson. Safety Harrison Smith got some one-on-one man assignments. But the intention was aimed at undersized corners Josh Robinson (5’10”) and Captain Munnerlyn (5’9″), who didn’t lineup across from Johnson (6’5″) a single time.
