EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Xavier Rhodes knows he’s played well this season. The second-year corner has come on strong, especially since the start of November, and Sunday he faced perhaps his toughest task yet.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer entrusted Rhodes to cover Lions’ top receiver Calvin Johnson, one of the premier receivers in the NFL, for most of the afternoon. Detroit occasionally moves Johnson into the slot to get him more favorable matchups, and did so again on Sunday against Rhodes.
