EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Charles Johnson has emerged as the starting split end receiver for the Minnesota Vikings and in short order seemingly has become Teddy Bridgewater’s favorite target. Johnson caught five passes Sunday in Minnesota’s loss to the Lions, and he’s averaged 16 yards per reception this year.
But it was a catch he didn’t make — never had a chance, really — that stood out Sunday.
