EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — With Vlad Ducasse taking snaps for an injured Charlie Johnson at left guard, the Vikings are likely preparing to start the fifth different offensive line combination of the season on Sunday at the Detroit Lions.
Johnson sprained his right ankle in the Vikings’ 30-24 win over the New York Jets on Sunday, becoming the third opening day starter that could miss extended time this season. Both guard Brandon Fusco and tackle Phil Loadholt landed on injured reserve, each with a torn pectoral. Johnson has yet to practice this week.
