Kluwe: Vikings Refuse To Release Report On Coach

By Eric Henderson

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) — Former Vikings punter Chris Kluwe says the Minnesota Vikings have backed down on their promise to release the results of an investigation into homophobia among the team’s coaching staff.

According to a press release tweeted by Kluwe Tuesday morning, the conference will be held at the IDS Center at 11 a.m., not long before the MLB stages its All-Star Game parade down nearby Nicollet Mall.

Last year, Kluwe penned a scathing article on Deadspin alleging that special teams coordinator Mike Priefer made anti-gay comments during team meetings, a claim Priefer has denied.

The Minnesota Vikings retained a former Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Eric Magnuson and a former Justice Department attorney Chris Madel to conduct an investigation into the allegations.

Kluwe says that on Monday, the Vikings told Kluwe’s attorney that they would not be providing a copy of the report to either the public or Kluwe himself.

“Was really hoping to have a completely different sort of press conference today,” Kluwe tweeted. “So it goes.”
