Bleacher Report – Vikings

Randy Moss elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame

By Matthew Coller

Wide receivers have had a tough time getting into the Hall of Fame on the first try, but Randy Moss is the very definition of a first-ballot Hall of Famer. On Saturday, he was voted into Canton, according to multiple reports.

Moss began his Hall of Fame career in Minnesota in 1998. He immediately proved to be a special player, leading the NFL in touchdowns and winning AP Rookie of the Year. He was also named first-team All-Pro and made his first of six Pro Bowls.

Moss led the NFL in touchdowns five times and ranks second all time in touchdown receptions (156). He also ranks fourth all time in total yards receiving.

As a Viking he twice cleared 100 receptions and reached the NFC title game twice, then with the Patriots he grabbed 23 touchdowns and reached the Super Bowl. He caught 54 passes and 10 touchdowns in the postseason.

Moss becomes the first first-ballot wide receiver since Jerry Rice.
