By Matthew Coller

USA Today’s Tom Pelissero is reporting the Vikings will sign tight end Nick Truesdell, a 27-year-old Arena League player who recently stood out at the veteran combine.

The 6-foot-5, 245-pound tight end was signed last year by the Indianapolis Colts in late July, but did not make the team. He has also had tryouts with the Packers and Bengals since finishing college at Grand Rapids Community College in 2013. Truesdell has played for a number of indoor football teams, including the Colorado Axemen, Bemidji Ice and Portland Steel.

The veteran combine, which was for players who signed their first NFL contract in 2014, 2015 or 2016 or had their most recent contract waived or expired during the 2016 league year, took place March 25-26.
