Vikings DT Sharrif Floyd back with team, not practicing yet

By Matthew Coller

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said Thursday morning defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd is back with the team after spending time away to rehab his surgically-repaired knee.

Floyd has only played one game this year as he was in the lineup for the opener against Tennessee. After Week 1, he had a procedure to clean up a cartilage issue.

The former first-round pick has battled injuries throughout his career, missing two games in 2014 because of a knee injury and then sitting out the three in 2015.

Zimmer showed some frustration with Floyd’s absence, remarking that the team had expected him to be back earlier. The Vikings’ coach said he has “no idea” when Floyd will be back.
