Cedric Thompson is headed back to Minnesota, according to his agency, which tweeted Tuesday that the former Gophers defensive back is joining the Vikings’ practice squad.
Thompson originally was drafted in the 5th round by the Miami Dolphins in in 2015. The Dolphins cut him and stashed him on the practice squad, then the Patriots signed him to their practice squad in January 2016.
To make room for Thompson, the Vikings would need to make another roster move.
