The Chicago Bears were forced to play their third string quarterback Matt Barkley last week against the Green Bay Packers after backup Brian Hoyer went down. This week the Bears will presumably have their starter back as Chicago faces off with the NFL’s best defense in Minnesota. Bears head coach John Fox announced that Jay Cutler has been cleared to play after suffering a thumb injury Week 2.
Cutler struggled in his first two games of the season, tossing one touchdown, two interceptions and posting just a 75.7 quarterback rating.
The Bears’ veteran quarterback lost both games against the Vikings last year, but posted ratings over 90 in both games.
