Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said Monday Jake Long was at Winter Park for a workout. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Vikings will sign Long to bolster their dinged-up offensive line.
The Vikings have placed both tackles Matt Kalil and Andre Smith on Injured Reserve. Jeremiah Sirles and TJ Clemmings have taken the jobs, but Clemmings struggled on Sunday against the Texans.
Long was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft. He played five seasons with the Dolphins and the last two with the Rams.
