Bleacher Report – Vikings

Rhodes practices again Thursday

By Matthew Coller

The Minnesota Vikings can always use cornerback Xavier Rhodes in the lineup, but they are especially hoping he can play this Sunday against Kelvin Benjamin, Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers.

Rhodes practiced for the second straight day, though he was on the injury report as limited on Wednesday. The Vikings’ top corner has missed both games thus far after hearing a “pop” in his knee.

“It’s made great progress,” Rhodes said after practice. “We’re going to go day by day.”

Rhodes added that he is “taking it slowly” and hopes to play Sunday against his former teammate Kelvin Benjamin.

MyCole Pruitt and center Nick Easton, both of whom have missed the first two weeks, were practicing as well. Sharrif Floyd is trending toward missing this weekend’s game as he missed practice again. Floyd played half the snaps against Tennessee, but did not play vs. the Packers. Floyd’s injury is his right knee according to head coach Mike Zimmer.
