Report: Teddy Bridgewater To Have Knee Surgery Thursday

By Vikings – WCCO | CBS Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will find out this week just how bad his left knee injury is and how long the recovery process will be.

According to an ESPN report, Bridgewater will have surgery on Thursday. He suffered a dislocated knee and complete ACL tear during a non-contact passing drill at practice on Aug. 30.

He will miss the entire 2016-17 season, and it’s possible he won’t be ready to play the 2017 season. That prompted General Manager Rick Spielman to trade the team’s first-round draft pick next year and a 2018 draft choice to Philadelphia for Sam Bradford.

The Vikings are taking on the final two years of Bradford’s contract. The trade signifies team officials think they can win now, they think Bridgewater will be out long-term and they needed to make a move with debuting a brand new $1 billion stadium.

Vikings officials have said they expect Bridgewater to make a full recovery and play again.
