Claudell Louis, a defensive tackle born in Haiti, signs with Vikings

By Derek Wetmore

MANKATO — The Vikings have added some more depth to the defensive line for training camp.

The team announced Saturday that it has signed Claudell Louis, a rookie defensive tackle from Fresno State.

Louis went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, and signed with Buffalo before the Bills cut him. He was born in Haiti.

The day before training camp began, the Vikings signed two players, an offensive tackle and a linebacker, which brought the roster to 89 members. Louis makes 90.

After camp began, the Vikings put two players on the Physically Unable to Perform List (DT Kenrick Ellis, TE Rhett Ellison) and two players on the Non-Football Injury/Illness list (G Mike Harris, QB Taylor Heinicke). DE B.J. Dubose is on Injured Reserve.
