NFL posts Brock Lesnar’s 2004 footage with the Vikings

By Andrew Krammer

In conjunction with Brock Lesnar’s return to UFC this weekend, the NFL took advantage of the moment by posting his 2004 Vikings footage on its official YouTube channel.

Lesnar, the former University of Minnesota wrestler, briefly left pro wrestling after claiming the 2003 Royal Rumble crown to take a swing at professional football. He was invited to the 2004 NFL scouting combine and would go undrafted weeks after a motorcycle crash caused multiple injuries.

The Vikings signed Lesnar, then 27 years old, as a defensive tackle before training camp. He would officially finish his NFL career with one tackle in three preseason games. Lesnar was released before the final exhibition and never played in a regular season game.

This weekend, Lesnar successfully returned to UFC for the first time since 2011 and defeated Mark Hunt in UFC 200’s co-main event.
