Players vote Adrian Peterson as fifth best in NFL’s top 100

By Andrew Krammer

Adrian Peterson still garners the highest level of respect from his fellow NFL players.

Peterson was voted as the fifth-best player in the league, announced Wednesday to finish NFL Media’s annual top 100. He’s the reigning rushing champion, finishing with 1,485 yards on 327 carries last season, and one of only three players to ever do so at 30 or older.

By a wide margin, Peterson led all running backs in the voting including Todd Gurley (22nd), Doug Martin (33rd), Le’Veon Bell (41st), Devonta Freeman (50th), LeSean McCoy (69th), Jamaal Charles (75th), Chris Ivory (78th), Jonathan Stewart (86th) and Matt Forte (90th).

He’s the third and highest-rated Vikings player on the list, leading safety Harrison Smith (73rd) and nose tackle Linval Joseph (76th).

Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr was the first man out at No. 101.
