EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings added a 16th offensive lineman to the room.
Former Western Michigan left tackle Willie Beavers was taken in the fourth round (121st overall) by the Vikings on Saturday, the final day of the NFL Draft. A three-year starter for the Broncos, Beavers (6-4, 324) was selected first-team All-MAC as a senior last fall. He’s the second offensive tackle added to the Vikings roster this offseason, joining free-agent addition Andre Smith.
Beavers, 22, is a Michigan native and said he quickly surrendered his Detroit Lions fandom.
The Vikings have five picks remaining, with the next slated for 160th overall.
