Bleacher Report – Vikings

Former Vikings OL Babatunde Aiyegbusi to start training as WWE recruit

By Andrew Krammer

‘Babs’ has traded in a helmet for a wrestling ring.

Babatunde Aiyegbusi, the Polish offensive lineman who spent the 2015 preseason with the Vikings, was chosen as part of a 10-person recruiting class, the WWE announced this week. And he’ll certainly look the part.

Aiyegbusi, 27, stands six feet and nine inches tall and carries around 350 pounds. The Vikings gave him a shot a year ago, and the hulking athlete immediately drew intrigue when they were the first NFL team to give him a workout and contract. He’d only played football in Poland and Germany prior to his arrival in Minnesota. Aiyegbusi was released in last preseason’s final cuts after playing sparingly in exhibitions, and he turned to the WWE almost immediately.

He reportedly tried out last fall, and is now training with a select group of hopefuls at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla.
