Seahawks expect RB Marshawn Lynch to play Sunday vs. the Vikings

By Andrew Krammer

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll expects Marshawn Lynch to play in Minnesota on Sunday.

Lynch has been held out since undergoing abdominal surgery at the end of November and missed the final seven games of the regular season, including the Vikings’ 38-7 loss to Seattle on Dec. 6. Fresh off a NFC North-clinching win in Green Bay, the Vikings (11-5) will host the Seahawks again at TCF Bank Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. CT on Sunday.

“He feels good now,” Carroll said, via ESPN.com. “That’s why he’s back. He wouldn’t be here if he didn’t feel like he could go, so he’s ready to rock. We’ll just have to find out what it looks like. I really think it’s going to be just fine. I’m not really worried about it at all.”

The Seahawks lost running back Thomas Rawls to a season-ending ankle injury just a week after he ran for 101 yards in Minnesota. Seattle also has Christine Michael and Bryce Brown at running back.

Lynch averaged 3.76 yards on 111 attempts this season.
