Bleacher Report – Vikings

All hands on deck for Vikings as Joseph, Barr and Smith are active vs. Giants

By Andrew Krammer

MINNEAPOLIS — The Vikings win Sunday night and they’re in the 2015 NFL postseason.

The Atlanta Falcons won and, if the St. Louis Rams (leading 23-10 in the fourth quarter) close out the Seattle Seahawks, the Vikings (9-5) will need a win against the New York Giants to lock up a NFC playoff spot. Green Bay’s (eventual) loss at Arizona sets up a NFC North title match at Lambeau Field in the season finale on Jan. 3, regardless of the Vikings-Giants outcome.

They’re nearing full strength against the Odell Beckham-less Giants, as nose tackle Linval Joseph is active for the first time since injuring his toe on Nov. 29 in Atlanta. Linebacker Anthony Barr and safety Harrison Smith are also set to return from two-game absences.

Running back Adrian Peterson, who was listed probable with a sprained ankle, is active.

The team also designated receiver Charles Johnson (ankle) as probable, but he’s inactive and won’t play tonight.

Vikings’ inactives: QB Taylor Heinicke, CB Josh Robinson, WR Charles Johnson, C Nick Easton, OL Jeremiah Sirles, DE Zach Moore and LB Brandon Watts

Giants’ inactives: WR Davis, CB Hosley, S Taylor, LB Kennard, OL Gettis, OLCleary and DE Maponga

Receiver Dwayne Harris, listed questionable, is active for the Giants, who will be without top playmaker in receiver Odell Beckham Jr. as he serves a one-game suspension.
