Linval Joseph returns to practice for the Vikings

By Andrew Krammer

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Linval Joseph looked ready.

Joseph was one of the few Vikings players wearing his helmet during stretches and warm-ups, just before he took part in drills with his defensive line teammates for the first time in 2.5 weeks. Joseph appeared to be at least a limited participant in Thursday’s practice as he recovers from a foot injury suffered in the Nov. 29 win at Atlanta.

Safety Harrison Smith (knee/hamstring) was practicing again after rejoining his teammates on Wednesday.

The Vikings were without receiver Charles Johnson (unknown), linebacker Anthony Barr (hand/groin) and defensive end Everson Griffen (shoulder). Barr and Griffen worked on the side of practice with athletic trainers, while Johnson stood at the side of receiver drills before heading inside the team’s practice facilities.

Defensive end Scott Crichton (concussion) was not seen at practice.
