Bleacher Report – Vikings

Joseph, Smith included in handful of Vikings defenders not seen at Monday’s practice

By Andrew Krammer

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — As the sun set over Minnesota on Monday evening, the Vikings took the indoor practice field without a slew of defenders.

Linebacker Anthony Barr and safety Harrison Smith were not seen during the helmet-less walkthrough, as both were removed early because of injuries from Sunday’s 38-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Barr, who has played through a broken left hand, re-aggravated a groin injury while Smith pulled up with a strained hamstring in the second series.

Nose tackle Linval Joseph, safety Antone Exum Jr. and linebacker Brandon Watts were also absent from the portion of practice open to the media.

Joseph was held out of Sunday’s loss because of an injured foot. He hasn’t practiced since the Vikings’ 20-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 29.

Safeties Robert Blanton and Andrew Sendejo were present, but appeared held out as they stood on the sideline watching teammates in drills.

The Vikings have a quick turnaround as they travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals on Thursday night.
