EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Mike Zimmer praised the Vikings’ pass protection, said he liked his team’s play in third-down situations on Saturday against Oakland, but he’s eyed two points of emphasis to improve this week.
While the Vikings are obviously missing a mammoth piece in Adrian Peterson, Zimmer wasn’t happy with the way they ran the ball against the Raiders in a 20-12 exhibition win at TCF Bank Stadium. Jerick McKinnon (12) and Dominique Williams (6) had the most attempts and combined to average 2.1 yards per carry.
