EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — If the Vikings should somehow need a replacement again for Adrian Peterson, Jerick McKinnon is steadily working to assure they wouldn’t be without a three-down back.
McKinnon, a third-round pick in 2014, burst onto the scene with a 55-yard run in Week 4 that ultimately led to his first NFL start by Week 6. In college, McKinnon did a little bit of everything as a running back and triple-option quarterback at Georgia Southern. That experience translated well to the NFL, where he looked comfortable with the ball in his hands, averaging 4.9 yards per touch….
