In less than two weeks, teams are free to sign unrestricted free agents from other clubs.
The Vikings don’t expect to be major players, and outside of Greg Jennings’ $45 million contract to help boost a quarterback, they’ve stuck to the same mantra during general manager Rick Spielman’s four-year tenure at the controls. Minnesota prefers to be spectators, fill a top need or two and snatch up March bargains instead of big-money contracts.
That’s not flashy, but it’s smart.
