Adrian Peterson deserved to be punished.
That was my feeling in September when he was indicted in Montgomery County, Texas, on one count of reckless injury to a child, and it remains my feeling to this day. Even though Peterson was paid for much of the time he missed, keeping him off the field still sent a strong message.
But as NFL lawyers made their case Friday in Minneapolis before U.S. District Court Judge David Doty to keep Peterson suspended until April 15, while lawyers from the NFL Players Association argued that the Vikings running back should be immediately…
