MINNEAPOLIS — Teddy Bridgewater didn’t even get to finish his NFL debut. But it was impressive nonetheless.
A sprained left ankle cut short the rookie’s otherwise strong first start in his Vikings career. He was carted off to the locker room for X-rays on his ankle, which came back negative, and third-stringer Christian Ponder took over to run out the clock and seal the victory.
It probably wasn’t the storybook ending Vikings fans had hoped for, but the debut is one they’ll likely remember for a while.
