Vikings: Bag Policy Back In Place For First Preseason Game

By Jeff Wald

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – With their first preseason game on Friday at TCF Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings are reminding fans of the NFL’s policy on bag sizes and types allowed in the stadium.

Officials said the league-wide policy will be in effect for the second straight year, and it’s designed to provide a safer fan experience with quicker fan entry into stadiums. Vikings fans are encouraged not to bring any bags to games, but there are a few that are allowed in.

Any bags that are plastic, vinyl or PVC and don’t exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches are allowed. There are also official NFL tote bags that are legal in stadiums. You can also bring in a one gallon clear plastic freezer bag, like a Ziploc bag, or a clutch bag that’s no bigger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches, with or without a handle strap.

Officials said exceptions will be made for items that are medically necessary once they’re inspected at a gate. If you do bring a bag that’s legal, have it out and ready at the gate to inspected by security to keep the fan lines moving going into TCF Bank Stadium.
