Twin Cities Attorney Weighs In On Wilf Judgment

By Jeff Wald

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – About $103 million is the amount a New Jersey judge has slapped Zygi and Mark Wilf, with along with their cousin Leonard.

The money is to cover damages, fees, interest and expenses the Wilf’s incurred for defrauding old business partners involved in running an apartment complex outside New York City.

Judge Deanne Wilson also ordered Zygi and Mark Wilf to post a $110 million bond by Jan. 8 that will be held for three years, or until they exhaust their appeals in the long-running case.

John Boyle is an attorney with Moss and Barnett. He weighed in on what the ruling means for the owners of the Minnesota Vikings.

“It’s a real slam on their reputation,” Boyle said.

The Wilf’s believe the judge was not fair in her handling of the case.

“They claim she had an anti-weather bias,” Boyle said.

The judge also allowed Zygi and Mark Wilf to file a second appeal of her order that their personal wealth be made public as part of the suit.
