Adrian Peterson has several years left of high-level production before he drops off, assuming he follows the normal aging curve of NFL running backs who’ve come before him. He’s signed through the 2017 season with the Vikings, who are trying to sell an expensive stadium to season ticketholders. Peterson, one of the most popular Vikings of all time, was part of the groundbreaking ceremony, so his likeness is at least a part of that effort.
All of that suggests that it remains highly unlikely the Vikings would trade Peterson.
