Current league ranking for the Minnesota Vikings ranking as the least penalized team in the NFL this season. Minnesota is currently tied atop the lead with the Indianapolis Colts, both teams have been penalized 12 times this season.

The number of Kalil siblings taking part in Sunday’s gameday festivities. Brothers Ryan Kalil (28 years old, Carolina) and Matt Kalil (24 years old, Minnesota) will be facing off against each other for the first time in each of their careers. Their sister, Danielle, will be singing the American National Anthem prior to the game.

The number of rushing touchdowns for Vikings running back Adrian Peterson through the first five weeks of the season. Currently leading the league in rushing touchdowns (5), Peterson is also 2nd in the league for yards rushed (421). Oh yeah, we forgot to mention he’s already had his Bye Week too!

The number of all-time wins for the Minnesota Vikings over the Carolina Panthers. In 10 all-time match ups, the Vikings are 6-4 over the Panthers. The most recent game, a 24-21 Vikings win on 10/30/11 was also quarterback Christian Ponder’s first career victory as a starter in the NFL. Ponder was 18-of-28 passing for 236 yards and 1 touchdown. A passer rating of 102.7.

Number of 70-plus yard touchdown receptions for Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings throughout his eight year NFL career. Jennings, who caught a 70-yard TD pass from Matt Cassel against the Pittsburgh Steelers two weeks ago in London, sits at 5th in NFL history within this statistical category and is tied for 1st among active players.

The number of consecutive second-half complete passes by Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel against the Steelers in London. Cassel went 10-for-10 in the second half becoming the second Vikings quarterback since 1991 to complete all of his second half passes with a minimum of 10 attempts (Daunte Culpepper, 11/8/04)

Number of consecutive 50+ yard FGs hit by Blair Walsh throughout the first 20 games of his career. Walsh, who nailed a 54-yard FG in London, is the current NFL record holder with 12 consecutive field goals of 50+ yards.

The number of rushing touchdowns by Carolina quarterback Cam Newton over his first three seasons in the NFL. Newton nearly passed the previous mark for QBs of 16 by Steve Grogan (New England, 1975-77) by rushing for 14 scores in his rookie season of 2011. Cam tacked on another 8 in 2012 and has 1 under his belt this season.

Number of TD passes in a single season (2012) by newly acquired Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman. Freeman is currently 1st (27) and 3rd (25, 2010) on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers all-time list for TD passes in a season. That 2010 season saw Freeman throw 25 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions!

The number of points allowed by a stingy Carolina Panthers defense. Allowing only 14.5 points per game to opponents, Carolina has the top overall rated defense allowing only 1,206 total yards to opponents this season.

The number of TD passes thrown by Josh Freeman during his four year stint as quarterback for the Buccaneers. Those 80 touchdowns pin Freeman at the top of the all-time list in Tampa Bay for TD passes thrown as a Buc. Vinny Testaverde threw 77 touchdown passes over his six years as QB for Tampa.

Number of sacks by the Minnesota Vikings since the start of the 2011 season. Led by Jared Allen’s 37.5 sacks, the Vikings are 4th in the league over that time period (Cincinnati 109, Denver 108, Baltimore 104).

The number of yards receiving for Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith against the Minnesota Vikings on October 20th, 2005. Despite receiving more than 200 yards passing, Smith only found the endzone once.

The number of yards rushing for the Carolina Panthers since 2008. Over the past six seasons, Carolina leads the lead in yards rushed with 11,825. Second on that list…the Minnesota Vikings with 11,657 yards rushed. This season, Carolina ranks 7th in the NFL with 137.0 yards rushing per game and Minnesota comes in at 10th with 126.8 yards rushing per game this season.
