Report: Ndamukong Suh will escape suspension for illegal block

By anonymous@1500espn.com

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will be fined but escape suspension from the NFL for his illegal block on Minnesota Vikings center John Sullivan on Sunday, according to ESPN.

Suh was penalized when he undercut Sullivan as he was chasing the ball after an interception by Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy during Detroit’s 34-24 victory over the Vikings.

“[Suh] apologized, said there was no intent to injure,” Sullivan said on Monday. “I think guys get caught up in the play sometimes, sometimes things happen, it’s hard to remember what you do when you get caught up in the moment.”

When asked if he believed Suh’s claim that he didn’t mean to go for his knees, Sullivan stayed positive. “I appreciate he came up and said something, yeah,” Sullivan said.

This would not be the first time Suh has been in trouble with the NFL.

He drew a two-game suspension in 2011 from stomping on Green Bay offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith during a game on Thanksgiving Day. During the Lions’ game on Thanksgiving last season Suh kicked Houston quarterback Matt Schaub in the groin. He was fined for that incident.
