Minneapolis, MN – In a closed door meeting Wednesday morning, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority continued their due diligence process as the assess the current financial status of the owners of the Minnesota Vikings, the Wilf Family.

On August 6th, 2013 the Wilf family lost a New Jersey law suit that was nearly two decades in the making. The findings of the judge legislated that the Zygi and Mark Wilf had committed fraud, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, and had violated New Jersey’s civil racketeering law. The court’s ruling then threw the Wilf’s Minnesota interests, mainly the new Vikings stadium, into a state of flux and forced the MSFA to further research the Wilf’s financial situations in regards their portion of the new Vikings’ stadium.

In a statement from the MSFA that was released Wednesday morning, the MSFA announced that “based on the information received to date, we have indications that the team will have the financial capability to move forward with the stadium project” (via @AndersonJ on Twitter).

With the “due diligence” hurdle now behind them, the Wilfs and the Vikings hope to break ground on the new stadium project later this fall.
