Bleacher Report – Vikings

Quick Turnaround For Vikings With Titans Coming To Town

Mike Wobschall

The Vikings landed back in Minneapolis following their Sunday night game in San Francisco knowing they had less than 90 hours to prepare for their preseason finale against the Tennessee Titans, a game that will be played at Mall of America Field on Thursday evening with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. CT. Such is life in the NFL’s preseason, but it’s all worth it because the dawn of another regular season will be upon us soon.

Following a day off on Monday to recuperate from the third preseason game, the Vikings are back at Winter Park on Tuesday. They will hold a morning walk-through and afternoon practice to help prepare those who will play in Thursday night’s game. Following the morning walk-through, Vikings Head Coach Leslie Frazier will hold a press conference to provide an update on the status of his team and to comment on the news-making items that emerged on Monday.

Speaking of those news-making items, here’s a review in case you missed any of it…

— The Vikings announced that defensive tackle Kevin Williams suffered a hyperextension injury to his right knee. More specifically, Williams has a significant bone contusion as well as a posterior capsular strain. There is no word from the team on a timetable for recovery or return to the field, but it was relatively good news for the team and Williams considering how bad the injury appeared to be at first.

— The Vikings cut 13 players from their roster. You can view the list of cuts and the team’s roster by clicking here.

— The NFL announced that fullback Jerome Felton has been suspended for the first three games of the 2013 regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Felton will be eligible to return to the Vikings active roster on Monday, September 23 following the team’s September 22 game against the Cleveland Browns. Felton is eligible to participate in the final week of preseason, including Thursday’s game. His suspension starts on Saturday, August 31.
