Minneapolis, MN – Still sidelined after recovering from an emergency appendectomy in Mankato, Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl fullback Jerome Felton has been suspended for three games after violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
The statement released by the league Monday afternoon didn’t go into any details only saying that Felton’s suspension will begin August 31st and that he will be suspended without pay.
Jerome was also arrested last summer for Driving Under the Influence and according to Ian Rapoport, this suspension is a result of that event.
“We respect the league’s decision and Jerome understands it,” Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said in a statement released by the team. “Jerome is focused on returning to the playing field in week four vs. Pittsburgh.”
Felton will be eligible to return to the Vikings’ active roster on Monday, September 23 following the team’s September 22 game against the Cleveland Browns.
