Minneapolis, MN – On the very day that Vikings players were expected to report for Training Camp (Thursday, July 25th), all three Minnesota Vikings first round draft picks agreed to terms and signed contracts for their rookies deals. Four days later, some of the terms of those deals have been made public.

According to Tom Pelissero of the USA Today, here are some details on the terms of all three rookie deals…

DT Sharrif Floyd -Signed four-year deal (full guarantees for first three years) with a $4,253,600 signing bonus. Includes roster bonus and $100K workout bonus in 2016 compensation.

CB Xavier Rhodes – Signed four-year deal (full guarantees for first three years) with a $4,057,456 signing bonus. Includes roster bonus and $100K workout bonus in 2016 compensation.

WR Cordarrelle Patterson – Signed four-year deal (full guarantees for first three years) with a $3,631,672 signing bonus. Includes roster bonus and $100K workout bonus in 2016 compensation.

All three first round draft picks are expected to contribute in 2013 to varying degrees.

Floyd will start as a backup behind veteran DT Kevin Williams but should see decent snaps spelling the ten-year veteran.

Rhodes will likely be the only rookie to start for Minnesota in 2013. The thought is to put him opposite of Chris Cook and match the rookie up against big physical divisional wide receivers like Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall and Jordy Nelson.

Patterson is the front runner as the team’s number one kick return specialist but will likely start the season as a backup wide receiver. Patterson’s wide skill set could quickly get him more opportunities as the Vikings look to catch opponents off guard with a dynamic threat out of the backfield or lined up wide.
